Mixing Prints

Hey Ya'll!!!

Happy Sunday! Today has been such a great day. I'm sick but I still made it my business to go to church this morning. For my outfit I decided to mix up some prints. I paired a black and white striped shirt with a printed skirt I got from the Goodwill. To add a little umph I added my ASOS waist belt. My shoes were some oxford wedges from Aldo and my purse is by Steve Madden. I think the outcome was successful! I loved this look and I hope you did too! Comment below and tell me what you think about my "mixing prints".

On to my next post...engagement pics!!!!!

Weight loss challenge - Week 1

Hey Ya'll!!

So today marks week 1 of my weight loss challenge and I'm proud to say that I lost 3 pounds!!! Yayyy go me! It hasn't been to hard so far but the 1st week is always the easiest. I cut back A LOT. I'm eating salads, lots of fruits, nuts, oatmeal, and I only drink water. I try to exercise no less than 3 times a week. The only hard part of this challenge so far is behaving on the weekends. It's like when Friday come my mind is like ok Monica let's eat! LoL. I have to discipline myself in knowing that healthy eating doesn't stop on Friday's and pick back up on Mondays, its a week long process and routine. So, I'm challenging myself this weekend to continue my healthy eating habits. I know I can do it! Tune in next week for my blog post on week 2 of this weight loss challenge.

Update on my engagement pics: I should have them by the end of this week (hopefully). I will definitely be posting my favorites on my blog and on my wedding website...www.andersoncary.ourwedding.com

Please provide any tips you may have to contribute to this challenge I put myself on and also visit my wedding website and tell me what you think about it! Talk to ya'll later...Byeee!

-10 pound weight loss challenge

Hey Ya’ll!!!

As my wedding day is quickly approaching the one thing that always comes to my mind is my weight. I have been battling with my weight since the 8th grade. I’ve come a long way but I’m still not where I want to be. I am currently a size 14 but my ideal pants size is a comfortable size 12. I want to fit a non-stretch size 12 pair of jeans with no problem LoL since all of my size 12 jeans have major stretch in them! So, today, September 18th (Happy Birthday Daddy!!!), marks day 1 of my weight loss challenge. My goal is to lose 10 pounds by October 31st! My fiancé jumped on board with me so we are on this challenge together. He is also on his own weight loss journey and week by week I can tell that he is losing weight so he is my motivation. We both will never be skinny (we don’t want to be) and although we don’t have any health issues we just want to be healthier. We both plan to be around for a long time and being healthy plays a major part in that. Also, as I see celebrities and other people (who do it the old fashioned way) losing weight it just motivates me more to do it. Look at Jennifer Hudson and Jordan Sparks for example. They both look amazing!!! I don’t want to be as skinny as they are but their weight loss just motivates me to do it more! This challenge is going to be a difficult one but I’m sure I can meet my goal.

Keep checking my blog for weight loss updates and pics!!!!

Engagement Photos!

Hey ya'll!!

So my fiance' and I took our engagement pictures today. The locations and outfits had been planned since the beginning of July so we were both very excited! We had so much fun. Our photos was taken be Kari Tench Photography.  Kari did an awesome job. She is a great photographer. She had so many ideas for us to do and her direction was very good. We took our photos at the Farmer's Market and Libby Hill Park. Both locations were great. I was a  little worried about how our pictures would turn out because it was cloudy all day but as soon as we got ready to take our first picture the sun came out! We had 2 outfit changes. My first outfit was a dress from forever 21. I paired the dress with a cheetah print skinny belt and some Steve Madden cheetah print wedges. My fiance' had on some khaki shorts, a blk/whit polo, and some caramel colored polo shoes. My second outfit was a cute blouse from forever 21, light blue jeans, and my Aldo floral wedges. My fiance's outfit was a teal polo, light blue jeans, and some Aldo shoes. Our outfits complemented each other perfectly! My makeup was done by Brandy. She did a great job!!! She is a great beauty consultant so if your looking for a great beauty consultant please consider her. Her instagram is brandypagemua.  I cannot wait until our pictures come back. It will take 2-3 weeks for me to get them. When they arrive I will be sure to post some pics!!!

Like I stated before Kari Tench Photography took our pics. She was great! Check her out on www.facebook.com/karitenchphotography

New Look

Hey Ya'll! So as ya'll know I take engagement pictures on Sunday. Everything is already in place...props, locations, and outfits but there was one thing I had to figure out...MY HAIR! I had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair. I was contemplating a sew in but I wanted to keep the natural look since I am natural but I didn't want to wear my real hair..yea I'm difficult lol. One day I was on instagram and I ran across a page of my friend I went to college with and on her page she had pics of natural hairstyles she did. I didn't know she did hair or even work at a salon. When I saw the different looks by her I was like omg the hairstyles are so cute. I hit her up ASAP and told her that I wanted her to do my hair for my engagement pics. I told her what kind of style I wanted and we set up an appointment for me.  After 4 1/2 hours my hair was finally finished. When she turned me around towards the mirror I was in ah!!! My hair was soooooo cute!!!!! I will definitely be going to her again! So, now that my hair is in order I'm extra excited for my engagement pics!! When the pictures come back I will be sure to do a blog post on them.

My hair was done by Kamala. Check out her instagram page ----> _kamala

Bragging

Heyyy Loves!!!! Soooooo, as I browse instagram, twitter, and facebook I see a lot of people (especially my age) that are so called “bragging” about what they got and what they about to get and most of the time the bragging is about clothes, shoes, cars, and about what other people don’t have that they got. All those material things are nice..trust me..but does that mean that person has more and is better than the next person? I think not!! You know I understand that people work for what they got so it’s expected for people to flaunt and show what they work for but when bragging is put to use to put the next person down to make themselves seem like they are better than the next then that’s when it becomes an issue. There has to be an age limit where “bragging” has to stop LoL. What do people get out of bragging? I don’t understand. Does bragging give a person validity that they “got it” and that they are “better” than  everybody else? Some bragging is good but most of the time it used to put the next person down. As a 25 y/o with a career, about to be married, and almost has her ducks in row my type of bragging consist of having a job, a 401K, my own car, my own money, a master’s degree, a great family oriented foundation, great friends, omg the list goes on and on.

Comment below and tell me your thoughts about so called “bragging”

Engagement Photos

                                                                     Hey ya'll!!

So on September 16th my fiance and I are taking engagement pictures. I'm so excited! We have been planning this day since the beginning of July. We have our outfits set and our locations. My photographer suggested 2 locations in downtown Richmond and both locations are perfect! I thought I had everything together for these pictures but I was missing one thing...PROPS! I didn't even think about props until somebody asked me about them. I did some research on engagement photo props and the ideas were endless!!  I didn't realize how much props can add to pictures. I have some prop ideas I want to incorporate in our pictures and I can't wait to see the results. As soon as our pictures come back I will be sure to share them on my blog! Below are some ideas I ran across while searching online.

                                                                    Toodles!!!

I will be doing this..love it!
