Aren't we all real life mannequins??

A mannequin is a dummy or person who wears clothing to be photographed or to be displayed before customers, buyers... a clothes model. So aren't we all real life mannequins? Think about it, most of us dress a certain way at a certain point of time so we can be seen, to show off our clothes, to be the "show stopper" but isn't that what a mannequin is used for??? When we see something we like on a mannequin in a store we usually go to the sales employee and ask them "Where is that shirt that the mannequin is wearing" or "Can I have those pants off the mannequin" right? So why when somebody likes the style of another it's called "jocking" or trying to be like somebody else? If I see somebody wearing a shirt I really like then heck yea I'm going to ask them where they got it from. It's not that I'm trying to be like them or steal their style, its because I like their style and that I want the shirt too LoL! Style is how you make it! Your style is just that YOUR STYLE. Nobody can take that from you. Instead of saying "oh she/he trying to be like me" just be flattered that your style is having an influence on somebody else!

Wedding Time!

Hey Loves!! 

So if ya'll don't know I am engaged to be married. My fiance' proposed to me on Friday, April 13th (yes Friday the 13th O_o) and it was very unexpected. I was so surprised and it's funny that everybody around me knew the proposal was coming except for me. As I'm in the planning stages I have soooo many ideas that I want to implement in my wedding. The ideas are endless. I can't do EVERY THING so picking and choosing what I'm going to do is hard. The planning stages are so much fun and my wedding coordinator knows my style so this wedding is exciting to her too. My wedding is going to be focused on "Live, Laugh, Love" my theme. Ryan and I are fun, loving, family oriented people so we want to implement that in our wedding. I'm getting married August 17th, 2013 and I cannot wait! For Ryan and I to share our love with our family and friends is going to be a day to remember!!!

His Birthday!

Hey Loves! Today, August 23rd, is my love's birthday. My fiance' is 27!!!!! My boo getting old lol. For his birthday gifts I got him the couple's massage ( I had to throw myself in the mix :)) and some things delivered to his house. One package from Polo.com got delivered today and the other package will be here next week (I know I'm a little late). We both trying to get right for this wedding so I got him a little birthday cake from Martin's and I am treating him out to dinner this Sunday. I love my man!!!!! He's not really the extravagant, over the top type so for him it's the little things that matter and that's one of the features I love about him. Heyy y'all! Quick post. I just wanted to express my love for these jogger pants from forever 21+. These things are the bomb! They are comfortable, loose, cute, and stylish. I hope that faith 21 will come out with different colors because I would buy them all. I wore my joggers on yesterday (Saturday) while in Williamsburg and I got so many compliments on them. Below is my Saturday OOTD. It was a quick pic in Target lol. Ok that's it! Bye bye loves!

I just don't get it

Heyyy y'all!! I'm a plus size female who loves herself! I carry myself well as a plus size lady should. I've been plus size all my life and I'm 25 years old. I'm all for supporting the plus size community but what I will not support are these busted plus size females out here. Busted is when you see big girls out here who are just disrespecting the plus size community.  I do not want to see stomachs and overwhelming thighs hanging out of dresses, clothes to small and tight, and/or just nasty ass plus size females in general. Yes, plus size ladies can wear cropped shirts, mini skirts, fitted jeans, leggings, all the above but there are limits to how they are worn. Plus size females have to keep it tasteful. Yes, we can do what the skinny girls do, most of the time better lol, but we have to do it that it is appealing to our bodies. Sometimes that cute, midi Asos dress is not the dress!!! I used the Asos midi dress because I've seen too many plus size females trying to pull off this dress with all their stomach just busting out the seams. A big NO NO. Just because it's in our size doesn't mean we should wear it. To ALL my plus size ladies flaunt what you got in a tasteful manner, stay confident, stay beautiful, and keep the movement looking beautiful and fab!!! Love ya'll!

Heyyyy!!!!! I just wanted to do an OOTD post. Today I wore my high-waisted mustard color pants. Idk if you can tell but they are a little to big but I still love them. They are a size bigger than what I wear now. Hey ya girl losing weight! My shirt is just a simple white t-shirt and my shoes are just oh so lovely lol. My earrings are from Ashley Stewart and necklace is thrifted. That's about it. Talk to y'all next time loves!

His Birthday

Heyyyyy!! It's Saturday so of course I'm hanging out with the fiancé. His birthday is the 23rd so I'm treating him today to a couples massage since we both need one. My boo getting old..he'll be the big 26!!!! So I got some treats in store for his birthday. I can't spill the beans though since he reads my blog so tune in until the 23rd to see his birthday treats. Welp, the massage is calling so bye bye!!

Can't live without it

So as ya'll all know I'm #teamnatural. My 2 year anniversary is November 11th!! Although, I love being natural I cannot live without my weave. Yes my weave! I am #teamnatural all day but I am #teamweave too. I love me a half wig, sew in, pony tail, etc. When I get frustrated with my natural hair it's good to know that I can throw some weave in my hair and still look fab. Weave let's you be versatile with your look which is one of the major things I love about it. I don't know how many times people have told me that I look different with every weave hairstyle I get LoL. My coworkers always tell me I'm a different Monica every month LoL. I get bored very easily with my hair so knowing that I can switch my hair up anytime I want because of the millions of weave styles out there is GREAT!

I Said "YES"

I said Yes to the Dress today (ya'll probably didn't even know I was engaged lol)! I had an appointment today at 12pm at Ava Laurenne Bride and my experience was AMAZING! We (my mom and I) was greeted at the door and there was water and lemonade waiting for us. The atmosphere was welcoming and the customer service was great. Wendy was the owner and she assisted me with trying on dresses. The selection was beautiful and I tried on many styles of dresses ranging from ballroom to mermaid. I fell in love with the mermaid style. The mermaid style hugs my curves in all the right places. When I tried on this one dress and I saw myself in the mirror my eyes lit up! I almost shed a tear. When I saw myself I knew that was the one. After talking it over with my mom, cousin, and best friends I knew I had to say yes...so I did :) "I got my dress! I got my dress" I was/am so excited. I'm getting married yall!!!! So, I brought the dress today at a great price. The designer is Alfred Angelo. His dresses are BEAUTIFUL! I have to do alterations next year and I'm going to customize the dress the way I wanted. It's already beautiful but I want to make it a one of a kind. I can't wait!!!!

Well hello there. I thought I'd come today with an OOTD post. I wanted to be comfortable yet stylish today at work. I love blazers so I knew a blazer would be a part of my outfit. I paired a blazer with some high-waisted pleated trouser pants, a simple t-shirt, Steve Madden wedges, a statement neck piece and some simple jewelry. I think I pulled off my comfortable yet stylish look today. What do y'all think???
